Marvel Rivals Tournaments in Texas

Marvel Rivals is the newest core title on the TEC calendar and one of the fastest-growing games in Texas school esports. TEC runs Conference league play and LAN tournaments for it, with in-person events that bring Texas teams together.

Compete in Marvel Rivals across Texas

New to the calendar for 2026-27

Marvel Rivals earned its spot on the core lineup: the 6v6 format fits rosters that already compete in team titles, the game is free to play, and student demand for it is everywhere. Rivals gets its own Conference match night, so no roster has to choose between titles.

Season structure

One Texas calendar, two tracks

Scholastic, Conference

Two seasons that align with the high school academic calendar. Regular-season league play online, with regional and state finals held in person.

Collegiate

Three tournament splits per academic year: fall, winter, and spring. One membership covers every title and every split. See the split calendar.

Match scheduling is Texas-time and built around school commitments. LAN events are held at Texas venues. Online play is guaranteed if a venue is not confirmed.

Who can compete

Built for Texas schools and colleges

  • Texas high schools join through the Scholastic track at $500 per school, per academic year. Includes one Varsity and one JV team per game.
  • Texas colleges and universities (2-year and 4-year, varsity or club) join through the Collegiate track at $1,000 per institution, per academic year.

New programs are welcome. Marvel Rivals is free to play, so a lab of capable PCs is all a school needs to field its first roster.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers

Is Marvel Rivals part of the TEC season?

Yes. Marvel Rivals joins the 2026-27 calendar as a core title in both tracks: Conference league play with in-person finals on the scholastic side, and tournament play in the collegiate Winter split.

What night does Marvel Rivals play?

Thursdays during the Conference season, first match 6:00 PM Central. Rivals shares Thursday with Smash, which runs on Switch, so a school fielding both can run them in the same room on the same night.

Marvel Rivals is free to play on PC. A mid-range gaming PC with a reasonably recent GPU and a stable connection is enough for competitive play.
