About the weekend

The Metroplex Major is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate weekend in Dallas, TX. Positioned the weekend after Frosty Faustings and the weekend before Genesis, Metroplex Major is a new premier tournament in the heart of the country.

Friday is for high school and collegiate crew battles. Saturday and Sunday are open brackets for SSBU and FGC side brackets.

The open singles bracket is capped at 512 players, already seeded with a $1,500 pot bonus.

Side brackets in Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Rivals of Aether II and Marvel Tokon each carry a $500 guaranteed bonus that rises to $1,000 at 32 entrants and $1,500 at 64.

The tournament takes place at UNT Dallas, just minutes from the DART Blue Line, with direct trains downtown and a connection to DFW Airport.

FAQ

How do I register?

On start.gg: start.gg/tournament/metroplex-major-2027. A Competitor Pass covers the whole weekend: $45 through Nov 15, $60 through Jan 15, and $75 until registration closes Jan 31. Each bracket adds its own entry fee, listed on start.gg.

Can I come just to watch?

Yes. Spectators get in free all three days, with no ticket needed.

How do high school and college crews enter?

Crews register through their school. Member schools of the Texas Esports Collective enter their crews free.

Where should I stay?

Hotel block details are coming soon. The DART Blue Line runs from downtown Dallas to UNT Dallas Station on campus.

Can I get a refund?

Full refunds, minus payment processing fees, through Jan 15, 2027. After that, passes and entries are final unless the event is cancelled.
